We got back a little while ago from a clean-up morning around Santuit Pond with our Conservation Agent Drew McManus and some other volunteers.

It was an excellent group, and we got a lot done. Pretty walks through the woods, too.

Drew treated us to a very nice lunch at Town Hall.

Ron thought he’d lost his favorite shirt jacket. Turns out, it was in his closet.

He’s busy finishing leaf cleanup, which we started late yesterday afternoon.

We got the new charger for the lawn mower today.

We followed the path across the street from the entrance to Childs the other day. It came out on to 151 across the street from Andy’s. There’s a huge sandpile there that looks like it’s been used by trail bikers.

Yesterday, we brought the PassMass petitions to be certified by the Barnstable and Yarmouth town clerks. On the way, we stopped at the Mill Store and bought a nice made in the USA 75% off wishing well for the back yard at Edgewater and a little electric heater that looks like a small fireplace for us.

We were able to rearrange the living room so that we can both enjoy the heater. It even fits in the bedroom. We’re looking forward to using it again tonight.

Seems in the Spring I can’t remember which part of the back yard gets the hottest.

Turns out, it’s the right side, where we put the rotating sprinkler.

The grasses have recovered from being pummeled by that early snow.

It didn’t take long: we finished the pruning requested by the DPW.

I dropped off our meager signature sheets to Sandy.

Spent most of the day studying the Visual Studio 2013 launch materials and HTML5 tutorials.

Feel guilty about missing both the Watershed event at the Museum of Art and Margaret’s foreclosure presentation. Didn’t want Ron to push it now that he’s feeling better and I just didn’t want to venture forth in the cold and the dark.

We plan to bring the tree limbs to Emma’s sheep tomorrow.

Spent a good chunk of yesterday filling out online medical information for the new Cal retiree plan and researching Medicare supplement plans.

Also completed the online forms for Randstad.

Ron felt like he was coming down with a cold last evening.

It was raining at 8 and now at 9:45, it’s snowing, a big change from the mild weather we’ve been having. This one was a lot earlier than last year (December 1).

Ron mentioned this morning that he enjoyed visiting Titcomb’s the other day.

I decided to clean the bathroom sink today. It turned into a bigger job than I’d planned. We cleaned out the mess, but Ron noticed that the pivot rod had corroded. This lead to an argument about waiting until tomorrow to buy one at the plumbing supply store.

I was able to get the part at Aubuchon in East Falmouth today, though, and eventually we got the assembly back together again. I cleaned out the cabinet and gave the bathroom floor a quick cleaning as well.

Yesterday, we got the gates off the deck and Ron had filled in most of the screw holes, so today I did a little last minute puttying and sanding, then got two coats of deck stain on. Mercifully, it was the perfect temperature, actually got up to 70 degrees. It started raining a little before four.

We did the transfer station run and finally were able to drop off our little welcome-to-the-neighborhood gift to the new family on Briar Patch.

Ron has stagehand duty tonight at the Woods Hole Folk Music Society (Jeff Muldaur), so while he ran a last-minute errand, I threw together a tuna/noodle casserole, beet/orange salad, lemon bars and for the concert half-time, brownies. I try to bake in spurts so the oven heats up for at least two items.

We committed ourselves to finishing the siding, putting in a second window in the attic and installing a heat lamp in the bathroom.

I washed the summer curtains and made chili, gluten-free rolls and a spice cake today. Very good!

Ron and I took the gates off the deck. Ron filled in the screw holes; I’ll sand and stain tomorrow.

Ron got in touch with Cal today and confirmed that I am eligible for his spending account – good news.

One of the neighbors came by with $10 for the street sign – more good news.

Trying to work out logistics on petition delivery to the Town Clerks.

After emptying the truck at the transfer station, I did some more yard work.

Cindy stopped by after work to drop off the guitar and stayed for tea. We’d had an early supper.

Watched “Battleship”. Saw “The Letter” last night. Good films!

Thank goodness. We’ve been in such a water deficit that it could rain for a week before we’d catch up.

More leaves have fallen, but not nearly as many as we picked up yesterday.

I had a good follow-on exam with the oral surgeon.

Brought my favorite clock to Just in Time, the East Sandwich clock shop, for new innards. A pleasure to meet proprietor John Hobbs.

Ron called it: it’s pouring rain and has been coming down for over two hours.

I’m so happy that we got the bulk of the yard work done over the last two days.

Put up the winter curtains in the living room and pulled some more paperwork together for the fuel assistance application.

Got a tentative job offer. Nice!

Can’t believe that James and I, with a strong assist from Ron, cleaned up the back and front yards at Edgewater in about 2 1/2 hours.

We didn’t come close to yesterday’s pile, so Ron was able to put both of our machines on the truck for the ride home.

What a great feeling to have that wrapped up. At least for now.

The bad thing is that I lost my beloved sheers. We tried sorting through our pile at the compost yard, but it didn’t seem like they were there. I looked all over the place. Can’t imagine what I did with them, but it breaks my heart to lose them.
