Errands: Done

I finally got myself cleaned up enough to go out and meet people.

Delivered Ron’s lined jeans that need a new zipper to the seamstress in North Adams.

Then filled up the car at Cumby’s on the Mohawk Trail and picked up the photo with the restored frame from the craftsman’s studio at Windsor Print Works on Union Street.

In spite of two grocery deliveries from Walmart this week, I’d forgotten liners and B12 so picked these up at Dollar General in Williamstown on the way home.

Jett came with me. Later he and Ron played fetch in the back yard. I/we watched some Olympic events including the women’s free skate.

Very happy – in fact, thrilled – to have these errands done before the predicted snow and icy roads tomorrow.

Taxes

Finished the Federal, working on Mass.

After re-reading the cancellation document from the solar company financing firm at least a half-dozen times, I finally saw that a telegram counts as confirmation in writing. So, no need to go to the post office today to send a certified letter.

I lined up a couple of visits to North Adams tomorrow to drop off Ron’s lined jeans that need a new zipper and to pick up a framed photograph that had been damaged in the move.

Ron visited the food pantry today and brought home a bunch of stuff I would have left but never mind.

I resented this because a) I’d given him a list (he “forgot”) and b) I hate having to make do with ersatz ingredients. Lowest form of household chore in my view and I detest it.

Meanwhile, the downstairs bathroom looks like he had another accident.

Appointment to fix the truck was canceled, the tech is sick with the Covid virus.

Did more work on the Remedy app.

Valentine’s Day

Cloudy but not lung-searingly cold.

Yesterday as soon as we got the truck home from L&G, Ron did a transfer station run with recyclables. Meanwhile, I reconciled their advice for repairs with the advice from KM Toyota. Turns out each recommended the same repair, only phrased a little differently.

L&G didn’t have my invoice so I don’t know how much I owe them.

This morning I went to the Williamstown Farmer’s Market and brought home pastry and bread from two vendors. Then Jet and I went to the library for tax forms.

I emptied wastebaskets, collected as many of Jett’s trumps as I could see, loaded up the truck, put new liners in the bathroom, kitchen, garage and sunroom trash containers. Ron did another transfer station run.

Perused the agreements with Trinity Solar and their finance company, Goodleap. Found the section on termination by the 18th but nothing about taking down trees.

We watched the men’s Olympics free skate last night and were devastated by Ilia Malinin’s breakdown. He said afterwards that as he immediately before he started his routine, “a flood of memories of good and bad things” came to him. It sounds very much like the life “passing before your eyes” experience that some have reported before dying.

Cleaned Out the Drain

Until today, I was not able to clean out the upstairs bathroom drain. I tried out our new little sink plunger but pulling out the stopper by brute force really did the trick.

Jett and I went to Tractor Supply for a bag of his food. I picked up oregano and onion powder at Job Lot.

I ordered his monthly med yesterday and mailed the prescription today. Hope to get it in a week.

Truck is ready to be picked up. The metal fabrication shop found another problem. I made an appointment to bring it in to Toyota next Thursday.

Did a bunch of edits for the school. Continued to work on Orders for Remedy. My next challenge is to make order records editable.

Bennington

Sent a copy of our latest oil company invoice to the Salvation Army. It’s part of our application for fuel assistance.

Finished drying laundry from yesterday.

Ron had intestinal distress yesterday. I seem to be doing much better taking a dose of apple cider vinegar in water.

Dropped off the truck at L&G in Bennington. Jett came with us.

Did some troubleshooting for Remedy Hall and saw Andi. Same for MRS, went live yesterday.

My bike pedal exerciser from Nations Benefits arrived today. Got to try it out this evening.

We exercised Jett twice, me in the living room and Ron in the yard.

Another Bad Dream

Bad work dream last night, this one about favoritism that troubled me so much that in the dream, I quit in the first week.

Peter’s going back to work on the tenth and I hope he’ll be okay.

Very cold: 2 degrees.

Changed sheets. Shoveled the square part of the deck. Frozen pizza for an early supper.

Ron lost a crown. Not sure which dentist installed it, but he got an appointment for tomorrow with our dentist to fix it.

Sunday

Finally broke down and turned on a small heater in my study.

Did some troubleshooting for Ron. He wanted to upgrade his iPhone OS and his iCloud account. Luckily he had his password.

Made a rich soup for lunch. Added cheese, broccoli and small boiled potatoes to a can of Progresso vegetable served with fried onion pieces. Ordered soy curls from Walmart.

Looks like temps may be going up slightly next week.

Ron and I hung the green drapes in the living room. They look nice and I hope they’ll provide some insulation.

Cold

Neither of us have been out much over the last several days: too cold.

This year I’ve found that it takes a long while to warm up after being out in the cold.

Today I really missed having a nice dessert so made a cobbler from canned peaches, a box of cake mix and a stick of butter, all from the Pantry.

I made some minor pricing edits on MRS but found that I’d inadvertently uploaded my local web.config so none of the database connections worked. Easy fix, glad I caught it.

Bad Stomach

Pain for hours last night. Stomach didn’t feel normal until I drank cider vinegar and ginger this morning.

Emailed with Andi; she suggested I stay put, said she’d send me some info for data input.

Didn’t do anything else today and supposed to be very cold tomorrow, below 0.
