According to the AP-Ipsos poll conducted this week, Bush’s “popularity” rating is now at 36%, with only 35% “approving” of his handling of Iraq.
The Republican-controlled Congress has an approval rating of 30%. Democrats are favored over Republicans by a huge margin – 16%.
69% of those polled believe the country is headed in the wrong direction.
The Republicans have gerrymandered enough House districts to make it near-impossible for the Dems to obtain a majority. The Dems need to win another 6 seats to take over the Senate.
In another poll on local talk radio station WTTK, Katie Couric gets a big thumbs down on her new assignment with CBS – 76% say it’s a “disaster” because she has “no talent”.
So, roughly 2/3-3/4 of a sampling of adults have a semblance of common sense about both politics and entertainment.
Of course, that doesn’t matter, as anyone who drives car or a truck can attest – the nut jobs that comprise the remaining 1/4-1/3 will continue to make life miserable for the rest of us, whether on the road, in the voting booth, or through the public airways.
