The boys stayed over on Friday night and we had a busy Saturday, starting with breakfast and later, a swim in Candy’s pool (I spaced on taking photos). We had all kinds of equipment in the pool – boogie boards, floaties, and a beach ball.
Bob has been talking up the miniature golf at Pirates Cove in South Yarmouth since we went last year, so after lunch, we picked Emme up and did both 18-hole courses.
Bob did extremely well, and James was generally good, except for a couple of lapses, including picking up someone else’s golf ball (they were very understanding).
After ice cream, we met up with P&B at IFAW’s new education center on Main Street in Hyannis. The kids got to meet the whale character at the entrance, and enjoyed the several exhibits. Bob and Emme went home with IFAW bracelets, and James got a dolphin toy.
Today, everyone is going to Wareham for Grandpa Ed and Grandma Judy’s annual Fourth of July party.
Thank goodness, we FINALLY have a break from the muggy weather. Last week was a misery, humidity and a couple of torrential rain storms, which did a number on the more delicate flowers, like the lobelia, which look like they’ve been through a war.
The GOOD news is that the larkspur have started to bloom, and the annuals have taken hold – zinnias, marigolds and snap dragons. The day lilies have already started in Peter’s yard, so those won’t be far behind here.
