Plant Sales

Made it to three: Sandwich and Aptucxet Garden Clubs and Woods Hole Library.

Found two beautiful Sun Gold tomato plants, a 6-pack of beefsteaks, two nice Campanulas and two 6-packs of kale and romaine lettuce.

Planted everything but the tomatoes which have not been hardened off; these are in the cold frame for now.  Rained last night.  I think the seedlings in the new garden are either squash or cukes.  Ron reports roots in the compost.

Ron mowed the back yard and put together three tripods for beans.  He mowed/ground up the clover in the tomato garden.  I raked it back into the soil.

I also dug up about 3 inches of grass that abut the back steps and, thus, is difficult to mow, and transplanted the violets dug up from the garden in the hope they’ll prevent the grass from growing back.

Found some 12 inch Stanley threaded rods at Botello to reinforce the plastic fencing.

Stopped by Highfield on my way back from Woods Hole to see the herb planters.
