Day 9: Counting Down to Halfway

Ron made coffee, put breakfast together and made the bed this morning.

I had a pretty good night, slept solidly from 4 to 7:30.

Still muggy and horrible this morning; not missing being outside at all.

Visit from one of the RNA nurses.  She redid the bandages on my leg, a big help.  I cancelled PT, not being sure how much Tufts is going to cover, and I want to be sure I have sessions when the splint comes off.

Trying to do leg exercises, I pulled a muscle in my back.  Ron cured me with a BenGay rub.

I was very pleased to be able to grill in the evening.  Ron got back around 7 after dropping off Robert and stopping for a few groceries.

He was in a strange mood.  When I told him I’d made burgers, he seemed disappointed.

Later, he said “We talked about salmon”.  This was my Meal on Wheels, and I was more than willing to share it, but he wouldn’t have any part of it.  I kept asking him why but he clammed up.

It occurred to me that he’d probably been through a similar convalescence with wifey No. 1.  He didn’t admit to that but was silent and sullen the rest of the night.
