Good Thursday

Last evening, we went to Falmouth Eats Together at the Jewish Congregation and sat with three delightful women who engaged us in conversation.  We met a couple of enchanting children with “old souls”.

I drove Alpha to Hyannis on Wednesday and tried out the new Anytime Fitness gym at the Festival Mall.

Ron and I got desk chair mats, finally.

He enjoyed Ellen’s senior job search group yesterday.

I’ve been calling and writing to Republican Congresspeople, hoping we can stop the appointment of damnable Scott Pruitt to head the EPA and start a bilateral investigation of Trump’s Russia ties.

Much, Much Worse

I’ve gotten savage amusement from watching the “it’s for the children” crusade against Betsy deVos, when Sessions, Price, Pruitt, Mnuchin, Mulvaney, Puzder or Perry are much more of a threat to the common good.

Got the laundry and transfer station run done early, thanks to Ron, who I wanted to strangle after he questioned my advice on a computer problem: advice which worked, with an assist from Robert and CapeMac.

We visited a bartender friend at a local pub tonight.  It was fun!

It snowed briefly today, then rained.  We are prepared to be walloped tomorrow, though.

When There’s a Blizzard: Chicken

We found a good deal on a huge roaster the other day, so I made a chicken pie with gravy and chicken soup today from leftovers.

We stopped in to Bear in Boots Gastropub last night for a WCAI pub get-together.

Afterwards, we picked up groceries at the Service Center.  What a haul: avocados, tomatoes, cantaloupe, green beans, carrots, bread from Windfall, bagels, pollack, juices, canned goods.  Made a nice guac today, too.

Ron is annoyed because he lacks stamina.  He tried out a gym the other day, way overdid it and came home depressed.

I don’t have lofty ambitions at my gym: add 5 minutes a week to the “workout” and increase speeds by fractional amounts.  Got there this morning before the snow.

Afterwards, filled up the truck at Cumby’s and picked up last-minute groceries, the kind of things we can’t get at the pantries, like margarine.

Very grateful that friends and family are home safe.

More Frig Cleanout

Attended a 2-hour class at the Falmouth Main Library on intermediate iPhone mastery.  Good class, but a stupid woman clobbered me in the face.  Neck hurts a little.

Got rid of a couple of moldy containers.  Made fruit crisp with leftover cranberry jelly, semi-good apples and dried blueberries.

Went to the gym, saw an acquaintance there.  Drove R home from work.  Finished up some MRS coding.
