Freezing

Last year, it caught up to us on January 17.
It was early this year.
It’s cold. No, that’s not an adequate description: it’s unbelievably, horrifically, wind chilled to below zero, hyperborean, mythically cold, Mount Everest kill zone cold.
I am not a warm weather person, but this is crazy, insane.

It snowed twice this week, on the Lower Cape, which is where I work. Oh, lucky us.
I watched the squall line today, probably less than a mile wide, and centered right over Harwich. Mashpee has been untouched, which is a mercy for school buses and people commuting to work.
I was certain we were all going to crash into oblivion last night, but we were all spared. The snow squalls were so localized that by the time I got to Yarmouth, they were gone.
All I can say is, thank goodness we had heat put in Peter’s office last year.
