It’s been a long, long time, but every so often, there’s a glimmer of hope on the political landscape, and we saw it today on “Meet the Press” in the debate between Minnesota Senatorial candidates Amy Klobuchar (D) and Rep. Mark Kennedy (R).
I’m a Libertarian forced to register as an Independent, so profess no great love for either major party.
Still, it gave me visceral pleasure to see a smart woman candidate – who is leading by over 20 points in the polls – clean a nasty little man’s clock. And to watch Russert make Mark Kennedy squirm over his insistent questions about whether or not Kennedy (who has voted with Bush over 90% of the time) represents himself in this race as a Bush supporter: priceless.
