Home Again, Home Again

It’s almost 5:00 on a Saturday afternoon, and I’m feeling like a load of laundry that’s just been put through the spin cycle. And I’m not sure exactly why.

It was a busy week at the office, and Thursday, we were hit with an ill-timed snowstorm that peaked at rush hour. I didn’t get home until almost 8 PM, but I was so ecstatic to have made it in one piece, thanks to Truck, that I wasn’t even tired.
Friday morning, I woke up around 3:30 AM. Decided to make use of the time by clearing a pile of bills, both electronically and by check, and shovelling snow.
Save a trip to the bank, I was at the office all day on Friday, managing to get through one big project and a small one.
Today, I called Dell Tech Support around 6:30 (false alarm), backed up some files, had my eyes examined and ordered new glasses, something I’ve been wanting for 6 months, but had to wait literally until this week for the items to be covered by insurance.
I wasn’t of a mood to go shopping, although I did stop off at Trader Joe’s in Hyannis, Fancies market in Osterville and then the Mashpee Library to pick up a book on hold.
When I got home, a friend helped me set up the speakers that have been sitting in my living room since Christmas. I went to Radio Shack for a cable and birthday presents for my grandsons, finished the setup, finished the shovelling, uploaded some files to one of the websites I maintain, and finally printed off a Dell rebate that’s been sitting in my inbook for a couple of days.
So, it’s been a jiggity jog kind of day, but I didn’t do anything remotely athletic. The weather has been picture-perfect; it was great to be out, and I’m kind of annoyed that I didn’t do at least a short walk, which would have justified the tiredness I feel right now.
In a while I’ll have a light supper and go to bed early – just as well that my message inviting one or more grands over was ignored.
