Babbling right-winger Pat Robertson really put his foot in it with his lunatic comment about assassinating democratically elected Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez.
Venezuela, with one of the most robust economies in South America (Venezuela’s economy grew for a seventh straight quarter in the April-June period as record high oil prices fueled government spending and consumer purchases.) is also the fifth-largest oil producing nation in the world.
Since the US is the principal buyer of Venezuelan oil, why doesn’t someone invoke the Patriot Act and throw Pat “bomb the State Department” Robertson in the slammer?
A rhetorical question, indeed.
