Gardener’s Diary

Projects this week include planting a small (6 bushes) blueberry patch in the area destroyed by the idiot with the bobcat and possibly crushed bluestone and pavers for the front walkway. Think the latter will look nice with the blue-gray composite stairs.
Still have some mulching to do and another week and two days of heavy grass watering.
I’m tired.

(Later)
Was able to finish the blueberry patch, although it was a fight with the massive number of roots.
Mulched the blueberries and the butterfly bush.
Managed to clear the front walkway – a physically difficult, tedious job, and thank goodness for the hoe that Carolyn gave me.
After talking with three different places, I ended up with ordinary gravel, only larger than the type in the driveway. This was recommended because the pieces don’t sink as easily into the ground, and they don’t get stuck in the soles of workboots.
