To the Trash

I’ve been increasingly irritated by the spam mails from John Kerry, which seem to be more frequent now that the Electoral College vote has been made official.
Conspicuously absent from any meaningful participation in the election protests, Kerry now seems to feel he has a right to lead the loyal opposition through four more years of George Bush.

Guess what – in this voter’s book, John Kerry is a publicity-seeking coward. For Pete’s sake, he wasn’t even in the country when Congress met to certify the vote. His so-called army of lawyers was deafeningly silent throughout the demands for recounts, hearings and court cases.
In complete disgust, I’ve marked current and future emails from the Kerry campaign as “Junk”.
I’m not in love with the Democrats, believe me. If it were up to me, the whole Congress, and the Presidency, and the Supreme Court would be Libertarian.
Still, reality being what it is, the best anti-Bush bet is, unfortunately, the Democratic party. And it deserves better leadership than Kerry is willing to provide.
Four more years. Let’s hope that the Democrats and a few Republicans of conscience turn Bush’s second term into an ineffectual series of failed initiatives.
As for 2008: if the Republicans nominate anyone other than McCain, then they deserve to lose it all, Congress included.
