Gardener’s Diary

The July humidity found us this morning. While it’s not overly hot, the air is still moderately demotivating, poor sleeping weather. The garden, which was so beautiful two weeks ago, is past peak, reflecting the slow decline of the Larkspurs and the Bachelor Buttons.

The hostas are blooming, though, as well as the Clematis, Lupine and Penstemon.
The New Guineau impatiens by the door – the ones that benefitted from the bird family’s infusion of organic fertilizer – are also blooming again, and their color is especially welcome on overcast days like this.
