Overnight

This is the first year for our timeshare week at Sea Mist, and I promised James he could invite some friends for an overnight party.

At one point, there were 9 kids, including James, Robert and Emme. Five stayed over, but I had to drive one boy home at 11 pm – it was his first overnight ever, and he was scared.
We lucked out for weather. The boys were able to play outside – shuffleboard, miniature golf – all of yesterday, and they swam in the indoor pool three times, including this morning after we checked out.
Today, it’s rainy and cold, much to my liking, but it would be tough with kids. I’ve been thanking the Great Spirit for giving us a nice day yesterday, in the midst of the stormy pattern we’ve been in for most of this month.
Food winners: ice cream and cones, tacos (not sour cream), bagels, cream cheese, yogurt, watermelon, chocolate chip cookies, root beer, orange soda, roast beef on sub rolls, bacon.
Losers: popcorn, potato chips, cereal.
I had a commitment to attend a clambake this afternoon, which I did enjoy, but I was a happy human being when I got home and was able to put my feet up. Between cooking, packing, cleaning and pool monitoring, my poor dogs were in pretty tough shape.
