Yesterday, the Pew Research Center announced the results of their recent poll, sample size 790, on Bush’s current approval rating, a low for the 3 1/2 dismal years of his presidency.
This April, the cruelest month, Bush’s overall job approval rating is 43 percent, compared to 56 percent in January.
This is interpreted as a reaction to the deaths of the 4 mercenaries in Fallujah, along with concern about rising gas prices. Leave it to the pundits to combine the tragic with the self-serving in their “read” of the public mind.
Regardless of the reasons, it’s reassuring to see that at least some Americans “get it”, even if it’s only 43 percent of only 790 of us.
