It’s been a long week, and I am ready – READY – for the weekend.
Only two more commutes to go.
Last night’s foray over the Sagamore Bridge was cake, at least for on Cape traffic.
Barely made it to my favorite gas station yesterday morning ($2.16 for regular), had only about 3 gallons left. I will try not to let that happen again.
I was an unhappy, miserable person at the client’s office yesterday, letting the place get to me. My sympathetic client explained that there is a hazing ritual for new people, and recommended cheerfulness in spite of it. Knowing that it’s not personal helps.
For the last 2-3 weeks, I’ve been having a lot of problems with an outside vendor, which seems incapable of following up on commitments and giving non-contradictory advice. I’m hoping to make headway today on getting things to work.
My client boxed himself into a corner by a) not submitting the vendor to a technical review by his internal IT department and b) not referencing them. He hired them based on say-so, always a bad idea, and so it’s on me to help him dig out of a self-inflicted mess.
Well, you know what they say: “A problem is an opportunity to own that client for life.” We’ll see.
