The New Hampshire state Supreme Court took a stand today for abused and neglected kids.
In 2000, little 21-month-old Kassidy Bortner was beaten to death by her revolting mother’s even more revolting boyfriend, “hanging” Chad Evans.
He got 28 years, and thanks to the same Supreme Court, prosecutors are now seeking to make it a sentence of 60 years to life.
Evans had a record of child abuse before he started his reign of terror against the tiny little girl. His lovey-dovey girlfriend, Kassidy’s “mother”, Amanda Bortner, was convicted of two counts of child endangerment and sentenced to two years in the slammer .
Today, that sentence was upheld, largely because the court found “Mom of the Year” Amanda Bortner to be a liar in her statements to police and prosecutors.
Let’s hope the remainder of Amanda’s sentence is about as miserable as the NH penal system can make it, perhaps including a run-in with the female equivalent of Joseph L. Druce, the accused murderer of pederast priest John Geoghan.
