3 AM

Early start, brought Peter to the 4:20 airport bus.

The roads were very good, and we made the bus in plenty of time, even though I was about 5 minutes off schedule – got the truck warmed up in the dark so as not to wake up the neighbors, only to find when I put the lights on that the windshield was completely iced up, forgot to turn on the defrost.
Think I’ll cover the windows in the guest room/office with plastic, it’s mighty chilly in here.
I’m grateful that we caught a break in the weather between yesterday’s early morning snow and icy roads, and tomorrow’s Nor’easter – they are predicting up to ten inches for the Cape and the Islands
Am I ever glad I don’t have to commute to Boston or anywhere else tomorrow.
This is no fun, anticipating a major snow storm so early in December: last year’s “storm of the century” knocked the stuffing out of most of us.
Maybe the kids will have the day off, maybe businesses will be closed to keep as many as possible from harm. Hopefully, we won’t lose power.
Got batteries, got candles, need to go food shopping and pick up a book at the library. I’ve been layering and keeping the thermostat at a little over 60, will crank it early in the day while the power is still on.
Those who have left New England for warmer climates are smart: the rest of us are really, really stupid.
