I got to spend some quality time with the 3 grandkids last night while P&B were at a meeting.
We didn’t do anything special, just a run to the library to pick up Bob from his book group, then a stop at Subway for supper.
They were all in a good mood, chattering away, but James (as usual) offered the evening’s bon mot.
In the course of conversation, I don’t recall the context, James started making hucking noises, then explained, pseudo-seriously: “That’s how they say it in Vomit.”
None of us have any idea how he came up with that (a Google search turned up empty), it just emerged out of the existential mind of James.
It was the funniest thing I’d heard since last Sunday’s 60 Minutes, when Paul Knox, the dean of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech, referred to the tracts of grotesque trophy homes as a new kind of suburb: “Vulgaria”.
