Samhain, one of the 8 great Shabbats of the Wiccan calendar, has been celebrated by the Celtic peoples for 3,000 years.
Derived from words meaning “End of Summer” and “assembly”, Samhain marks the end of the harvest and the beginning of the new year.
This year, 53 kids showed up before I had to turn off the light. Went through a whole carton of Smart Popcorn, which was a bit hit with parents AND kids, and a handful of wrapped candy.
It was a great night, not too cold, with clear skies. Altogether a most pleasant, happy holiday.
