The Dallas U.S. Attorney’s office announced today that the former national director of programs for the Boy Scouts of America has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
As we all know, the Boy Scouts preclude dangerous people like agnostics and atheists from their membership. And gays. But at least one consumer of kiddie porn had a 39 year run with same organization.
When the law caught up with said executive of the BSA, he was put on PAID administrative leave and subsequently allowed to retire.
He is expected to plead guilty.
His attorney, predictably, calls him a “good man” who is “not taking this well”.
Yeah, I suspect that the prospect of 5-20 doesn’t set real well, especially when you enter prison with a “child porn” rep.
And, uh, by the way, Mr. Lawyer: you can say your client is sick and needs help, you can say that he’s sorry. But, “good”? In the words of the great Mae West: “goodness” has nothing to do with it.
