It’s the start of Day 4 with no furnace. Right now, it’s about 3 degrees outside and 51 in the house.
Fortunately, the water pipes still seem to be okay.
The computers are happy: my PC, which had been making a regular groaning noise for months, is humming pleasantly, whether due to the temperature in the office or the fixes I made earlier this week.
I spent yesterday afternoon alternating between 3 MS Interop webcasts and watching the inauguration.
CSpan2, to its usual credit, covered the “counter inaugural” protest by A.N.S.W.E.R., including a thoughtful, stirring speech by Michael Berg, father of Nicholas Berg, the communications freelancer who was murdered last year by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Thank goodness the unseemly, embarassing, wasteful inauguration “celebrations” are over. And may history be a stern, remorseless judge of it all.
