Too Good To Be True?

After many months of struggling with lousy hardware (I was running VS.NET on a PIII) and worse project management, my .NET colleague and I were liberated this week by our end-user customer and brought on board direct.

It almost seems too good to be true – we have new workspaces with Inspiron 9100’s, two monitors each, a real infrastructure, and a savvy team leader who sets reasonable expectations and shares his thinking and his plans.
Plus, for the first time since March, we can actually see and talk with each other, as well as our SME colleague who’s been doing QA on the site.
All in all, this has meant a tremendous boost in productivity, not to mention morale.
And did I tell you that in lieu of the former musty, chemical-laden, leaky basement office (“We have too much air conditioning (smug smirk), I’m turning it down”), we now have a bank of windows with a view of a beautiful lake.
Pinch me, I must be dreaming.
Our new prez phoned yesterday from the airport en route to a West Coast sales call to check on our progress and to see if we wanted for anything. From the airport. And wanted to know what he could do for us…
We are goofy with joy; can it last? Good golly, Miss Molly, sure hope so.
