Taking the Plunge

I’ve started the wheels turning on the purchase of my second timeshare, which is not as stupid a decision as it sounds.
This is at a resort in my town, Mashpee, that has an indoor pool, locker room and a small gym, all of which are available to owners throughout the year.
Earlier this year, I did benefit from having a regular exercise program, and convenience is a bit part of that.

The timeshare week is in late June, and the resort has an outdoor pool, a miniature golf course, volleyball, shuffleboard and tennis courts.
The unit is located directly on the mini golf course, so it has the potential to serve as the home base for birthday parties for the grandkids, assuming their parents want to take advantage of it. It certainly could provide end-of-school-year celebratory overnights.
One of my neighbors bought a timeshare at this resort and has gotten a lot of use out of it. She also happens to be a real estate attorney, and she’s agreed to handle the paperwork on my behalf.
After my hospitalization, I’ve decided that it makes sense to pitch my tent more or less permanently here, for a lot of reasons, proximity of immediate family being the most obvious.
