Found that soaking the morning glory seeds produced rootlets, even without time-consuming clipping beforehand.<br \/>\nJames and I are making progress on clearing the overgrown forsythia in their back yard.  The soil is so excellent, I suggested planting vegetables; James: &#8220;No more gardens!!&#8221;<\/p><p><!--more--><br \/>\nPulled out the grasses in the flower boxes, they must have been killed over the winter, and put in purple spoon daisies and marigolds.<br \/>\nPruned the deadwood from the rhodies, azaleas and the beach rose.  Mowed the lawn yesterday for the first time.<br \/>\nRhodies are starting to blossom.  Foliage on the Montauks.  Deep purple tulips are beautiful at #11, the lungwort and bell flowers have spread.<br \/>\nThe hollies definitely seem to be in &#8220;off&#8221; season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seedlings appeared yesterday, one week after sowing!
