Trifecta this past weekend, all three grandkids stayed over on Saturday, into Sunday evening.
\nThey got to swim in the across-the-street neighbor’s pool and play with the next door neighbors’ two boys.
\nIn the meantime, we completed a couple of rounds of croquet and had a cookout, pretty much staying close to home.
\nThe tears when the ice cream man failed to show up on Sunday afternoon turned to smiles of delight when we stopped at a local convenience store and got the same treats, for probably half the cost.<\/p>
\nSummer will be over before long, only three weeks to Labor Day. The light is different, and late summer flowers, like the asters in the flower boxes, will be blooming soon.
\nWe’re having long-overdue tree and brush clean-up done at #11, which I hope will make yard work easier this fall.
\nI’ve been tending the flowers at a neighbor’s house and the lawns at #20 and #11.
\nWith all this healthy outdoor activity, the prospect of spending the last beautiful days in an office is not an inviting one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
