Don&#8217;t know about you, but I want the foundations of my particular civilization to be a tad more stable than that.<br \/>\nFor example, would you fly if 4 out of 10 planes were known to crash?  Or drive if 4 out of 10 roads turned into sinkholes?<br \/>\nMarriage laws in the US have been the purview of the states from the beginning.  And talk about hypocrisy: I don&#8217;t recall any federal constitutional challenges in the past to state laws that are anti-miscegenation or pro-polygamy.<br \/>\nThe great sociologist George Bush opined that marriage provides the best structure for raising kids.  Oh, PLEASE.  In George&#8217;s twisted world (the same one that brought you Weapons of Mass Destruction), no stepdads are rapists and no moms beat their kids.<br \/>\nMaybe he should watch a couple of episodes of Dr. Phil.<br \/>\nThe gay couples that I have known are as wise or as foolish as straight people when it comes to marriage.  Some folks need a meal ticket, some need a status symbol, and some are actually in love.<br \/>\nIf anyone wants to make book on a deal with a 40 percent tank rate, G*d bless &#8217;em, I sez.
