{"id":17103,"date":"2020-12-06T16:53:21","date_gmt":"2020-12-06T21:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecapeblog.com\/?p=17103"},"modified":"2020-12-06T16:53:21","modified_gmt":"2020-12-06T21:53:21","slug":"disaster-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecapeblog.com\/?p=17103","title":{"rendered":"Disaster"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We started laundry this morning and eventually made the bed late this afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, the visit to Geri&#8217;s for Free&#8217;s birthday party was a disaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were drinking prosecco and the subject of Ron&#8217;s entertaining stories came up.  I suggested that Ron tell Geri about one of his grandfather&#8217;s friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I can&#8217;t remember why, but this led to one of his &#8220;my wife&#8221; stories about his ex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve asked him before to not refer to that woman with that term.  It upsets me and there he was, dwelling on something that happened some 30 years ago.  Involving &#8220;his wife&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you can have only one wife.  One.  If that ain&#8217;t me, then this marriage is a F*g joke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geri was distracted and turned on her stove under a plastic container of ravioli.  It filled the living room and kitchen with smoke, enough to trigger her smoke alarm.  We opened windows, but that didn&#8217;t help very much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was out of my head with fury and insisted that we go home.  I didn&#8217;t want to be responsible for more disturbance to Geri&#8217;s neighbors or cause her even more of a problem than the one she had to deal with because of her own &#8220;stuff&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I yelled at Ron all the way home and afterwards.
