\nNewspaper story that a gardener in Easthampton was bitten yesterday by a poisonous snake, the first such report in 30 years. We got “snake bit” last night, but only by toilet paper.
\nWood geraniums are still blooming, the campanula is gone by, holding out hope for the Lupine.
\nBefore Tuesday’s rain, transplanted a nice hosta that had been crowded out by one of the Montauks and put in some more perennials in Peter’s rock garden.
\nThe heather has recovered, no buds on the hydrangeas although Candace Mary’s has a few. Should have daylilies soon. Several buds on the Clematis.
\nNeed another tall perennial for the front of the fence, which only gets half a day’s sun, otherwise that garden is looking pretty respectable.
