{"id":1338,"date":"2010-02-17T12:27:38","date_gmt":"2010-02-17T17:27:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecapeblog.com\/wp\/?p=1338"},"modified":"2010-02-17T12:27:38","modified_gmt":"2010-02-17T17:27:38","slug":"cleaning-out-the-toolbox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecapeblog.com\/?p=1338","title":{"rendered":"Cleaning Out the Toolbox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of my campaign to get the house in order, I decided to clean out my old toolbox.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" src=\"http:\/\/t0.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:K0Fkr15y4dDxTM:http:\/\/www.palmerwebmarketing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/internet-marketing-toolbox.jpg\" \/><br \/>\nAmong other things, there was a handful of pennies, which I shook in a jar with vinegar and salt to get off the patina, and a 1970 dime which, if it had been solid silver and not silverplate, would be worth around $1,000.<\/p><p><!--more--><br \/>\nThere are hundreds of nails, screws, hooks and washers, 5 sets of venetian blind mounting hardware kits, and 10 Allen wrenches.<br \/>\nMost interesting are two &#8220;mystery&#8221; devices stamped with patent numbers.  One helps you pin hems, the other is a wire stripper.<br \/>\nThere&#8217;s a pile of other, unlabeled mystery items, some of which my handyman neighbor has been able to identify, like parts of knock-down furniture.<br \/>\nThe punchline is that I was able to complete two projects without having to run to the hardware store for parts, a nice change from the usual over the past several months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of my campaign to get the house in order, I decided to clean out my old toolbox.
