The back yard was hydroseeded last Saturday, September 5.
\nI didn’t realize how many thousands of tiny rocks were in the soil.
\nThe yard was quite a mess afterwards, green gunk on the deck, stairs, trees, shed, etc.
\nWatering has been a challenge. The four-part faucet attachment fell apart almost immediately, and not all of the sprinklers are working. I need to make replacements and adjustments to prevent pooling of water.<\/p>
\nAside from that, the new azaleas in the front seem to be doing quite well. Poor things were ragtag when I got them, but they are nice plants now.
\nI put in a couple of purple spirea in the area where the hated fairy rose used to be.
\nFound a few autumn decorations, ivy and red flowers, for the little window boxes on the shed, gave the rest to CM.
\nReplaced a lavender that had succumbed to a gray fungus. Keeping an eye on the Miss Kim that hasn’t been doing so well.
\nMowed Peter’s front and back yard over the weekend. Told the kids an hour of groundkeeping burns up the same amount of calories in a can of non-diet soda (actually, I think it’s more).
