{"id":1261,"date":"2009-05-31T18:49:56","date_gmt":"2009-05-31T23:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecapeblog.com\/wp\/?p=1261"},"modified":"2009-05-31T18:49:56","modified_gmt":"2009-05-31T23:49:56","slug":"gardeners-diary-yardwork-without-knees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecapeblog.com\/?p=1261","title":{"rendered":"Gardener&#8217;s Diary: Yardwork, Without Knees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Worked outside, with breaks, from 10 this morning to around 6:30 this afternoon.<br \/>\nPlanted the astilbe, the foxglove, the two iris and a dozen or so bunches of lily of the valley that one of Peter&#8217;s neighbors gave us (two trash bags worth).<br \/>\nPeter and I hooked up with some of the neighbors for cleanup day.  He and I put 4 bags of mulch at the entrance to Santuit Pond Estates and if I do say so myself, it looks terrific <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.capecoder.com\/images\/spea.jpg\"><\/image>.<\/p><p><!--more--><br \/>\nWe got the deck swept off and Peter put back the dining set.  He washed his cars and my truck.  We put mulch under the holly tree.  I scraped some peeling paint and slapped on primer.<br \/>\nJames mowed the lawn at his house and I did mine.<br \/>\nUsed the plant budget, which I don&#8217;t intend to spend, to get Peter some much-needed outdoor equipment, including a hose carrier and a new mailbox.<br \/>\nAt this point, the big stuff is pretty much done at 11, which leaves weeding for next weekend.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve been surprised at how much gardening\/yardwork\/groundskeeping I can do with two bad knees.
