\nThen, I was lucky enough to win a gift certificate to a local restaurant, offered to use it to provide the refreshments for our annual holiday get-together and was told this would be more than sufficient “gift”.

\nYears ago, we stopped giving gifts outside immediate family. This year, gifts to the grandkids make almost no sense. They’ll be moving soon and don’t need to pack and haul anything extra.
