Took It Easy

At 9:45 this morning, we realized that we had a 10:30 appointment to donate blood at Cape Cod Hospital.

We ran into traffic in Cotuit – probably an accident – but were only a few minutes off schedule.

Our donations finished in the exact same elapsed time: 4 minutes, 55 seconds. This delighted the staff.

They recommended that we take it easy for the rest of the day, so after a stop at Home Depot for Krud Kleaner, we headed to Dennis to the Cape Cod Museum of Art so we could see Emma, the shop and the galleries. Ron loved it; he’s hoped to find good art on the Cape, and this was a start.

On the way, we picked up some beautiful wreaths at Cape Cod Organic Farm in Barnstable. We had a nice chat with a worker who did her undergrad at a school in NH. We’ll probably go back!

After the museum we splurged and had lunch at the Underground Bakery in Dennis, which had been recommended by one of the docents at the museum.

Good Ron

In anticipation of my first day at the new assignment, Ron set up the coffee pot the night before.

Yesterday, he made a nice lunch for me and put dinner together as well.

Had two meetings at the Commissioners office and camped out at Sturgis Library in the interim.

Picked up some last minute PassMass petitions at the Barnstable County clerk’s office.

Ron had raked the front yard. I had just enough daylight to clean up the back with Peter’s lawn mower.

Checked out Peter’s new mailbox, provided by a decent soul who knocked over the old one some time yesterday. We loaded his trash and recyclables onto the truck.

Having found the receipt (in my pocketbook), we brought our request for price matching to Mill Store for a credit and picked up a (bad) heat lamp bulb at Home Depot. Did some food shopping.

Loaded our trash and recyclables and did the transfer station run.

We raked the area in front of the fence and put away the Autumn decorations, including James’ pumpkin, which is composting in the back.

I made a version of the train wreck casserole we had in Jaffrey for supper; leftovers for lunch, fish that didn’t taste that great but didn’t poison us, either.
