Lean-To Shed

“I don’t know what I’m doing but I must be doing something right.” Ron and Joe placed the lean-to shed so that it almost exactly meets setback requirements. A bigger shed would have put us over.

They figured out this morning that the shingles I thought would work are non-standard. Miraculously, Joe had some in his shed that did the job.

I’ve made so many mistakes along the way, something I’m not used to. Thank goodness for Joe!

Shed: Plan B

Ron and Joe have been working on the lean-to shed for the past two days.

We discovered that the shed is too tall for the Plan A location on the cement slab, so the guys are constructing it near the driveway.

They got the walls built yesterday and the foundation and floor today.

I picked up a few things that didn’t come with the kit, like L-brackets and pea gravel, as well as roof felt, drip edge and hardware cloth to keep the critters out.

I made stir fry tonight with spiralized squash, beans, tomatoes, garlic and shrimp.  Cut up a bunch of fruit yesterday:  pineapple, watermelon, grapes, blueberries.  Also made pesto.

Drove Robert and Alpha today, Robert and James yesterday.

Donated Blood; Ron Is Afflicted

Ron confessed that the horrific scars on his hands are from poison ivy.  He came in contact with it when he was cleaning up the roadside.

His boss insisted that he stay home today and tomorrow.  We think that his wearing heavy gloves at work made the condition worse.

I helped Ron keep busy with chores, and he thought up a couple himself, so it wasn’t a wasted day by any means.  He drove Alpha to work, mowed the back lawn, drove to Waquoit Garden for mulch, picked up and deposited his paycheck and dropped me off at Christ the King so I could donate blood.  I got a gallon pin and hope it wasn’t a mistake.

Ron also repaired a damaged hose and connected it so that we can water in two locations at the same time.

I broke my vow to not shop at Roche and picked up “steam table” food for supper.  It was surprisingly good, and I got to see La Tavola, which was happening next door.

Unplugged the bathroom sink yesterday.

My search to find help with a dev project has been frustrating so far.
