Imagine….

I would imagine that these women have never heard the word “no” or “ugly”….

Gardener’s Diary – Iris

The big iris as well as the Siberians are well under way.

I’ve been cleaning up tulips over the last couple of days.

Did a lot of weeding today, first in the grass garden at Edgewater, then in the new flower garden here. Did a fair amount of watering as well, especially the blueberries, the front lawn transplants and the grass gardens in the back.

Roses are just about ready to pop.

Brought the old mattress from Franklin Street over for Emme, brought the soiled one to the transfer station. Picked up a sticker for 2011-12.

Up late last night at the ER with Ron, then up early this morning for my job interview at 8. I’m pretty beat right now.

Gardener’s Diary – Miss Kims

The Miss Kims – all four of them – have bloomed, finally. They are quite beautiful and fragrant.

Got nothing done today except for watering first thing this morning. Not sure where the day went. We unloaded the new a/c (66 pounds) and the shelves (100 pounds). I picked up tuna for sushi, my meds and some odds and ends.

Ron restored his backup with a great assist from Cape Mac in Mashpee Commons. He’s back online and able to check his email accounts.

Ron hurt his foot, so we’re on the way to the ER.

Vehicles

We got up early yesterday to bring the truck in for its annual sticker and for inspection of the air conditioning hoses.

While they were working on the truck, we went to the Registry, just down the road in South Yarmouth, for Ron’s license and registration.

We stopped off at Home Depot to check out portable air conditioners and found one that we liked. Since it was the last day of their 10% off sale, and Hyannis was out of stock, we made plans to go to the HD in Wareham.

Meanwhile, we went back to Hyannis Toyota so Ron could get the mandatory inspection for the van; it passed. I redeemed one of the Hy Toy tokens for a free car wash and transfer station run at Edgewater. I’d forgotten about all the debris in the back, so Peter helped me wash it out.

We found out that Ron wasn’t getting calls on his cell, so he got on the phone with AT&T to resolve the problem. One of the missed calls was from the Apple store in Hingham telling him that his MacbookPro was ready to be picked up.

We stopped at the house, grabbed a HD gift card, a generous wedding gift from Elaine, and drove to Wareham for the portable a/c. Also picked up a five-foot shelving unit for the basement. We stopped off at Job Lot for canned meat and fish for Fluffles and a few other things, including shorts for Ron.

We drove to Hingham for the MacbookPro, did a quick shop at Whole Foods, came back home, made pizza for supper, collapsed.

All in all, a productive if expensive day.
