The Good and the Bad

Woke up this morning to find that I’d left the freezer door ajar last night.
Hamburger and veggies for everyone today.

The unexpected, expensive repair of the truck is done. The casing for the rear assembly had rotted through and needed to be replaced. I’m told that Toyota is notorious for using low-grade metal in their vehicles. Next truck will be American.
The tomatoes and the deck planters are doing very well. I’m very pleased with Spencer’s, their annuals are providing great swaths of cheerful color, so much so that I just enjoy sitting outside to look at the flowers.
Wish I could say the same for the garden along the fence. Whether it was losing the soaker hose or something else, it hasn’t been especially pretty since the spring. The Montauks in particular are stunted and pathetic this season.
Busy weekend in the neighborhood, the base is hosting an air show for the first time in many years, and there’s a classic car show at the fairgrounds.
