Gardener’s Diary

June has been cool and dry, but the gardens don’t seem to mind.
Hacked but not stump ground 6 or 7 years ago, the woods around this house are looking like the forest primeval.
Having read through the “news” websites already, I’m trying to decide if I want to go to P-Town for the film festival, a one hour 45 minute trek each way, or just stay put.
That’s the story this time of year, when the opportunities for leisure time activities explodes.


School is over for the kids next week, as we continue to grind toward Beta at work. It’s tough to concentrate, with summer here for all intents, Fourth of July being less than three weeks away.
The weather forecasts have been iffy, rain predicted for today and tomorrow, but right now, it’s sunny and bright.
Today is Bloomsday, and they’re having a celebration on the Vineyard tonight; unfortunately, the schedule is such that the last boat leaves only an hour and a half into the performance. They are doing it right in Worcester, with a 14 hour stroll around the city and readings at various locations.
