Dogs

I wish that I liked Golden Retrievers. I’ve tried, but to tell you the truth, that breed and I just don’t get along.

Goldens have to be the most popular breed on mail order catalogs and other marketing materials, especially this time of the year. They look so adorable, especially the puppies, but in real life, Goldens are nasty, territorial and noisy.
A big German Shepherd lives next to Castle Ravayne, and while he makes a little too free use of the yard, he’s a sweet-natured beast and intelligent to boot. His memory is amazing, and he’s gentle with the kids.
Huskies are romantic, but they are unpredictable, and besides, I don’t have a farm or other large property for a big dog to safely roam.
Cocker spaniels are yippy, but Corgies are an exceptional small breed. I had a great experience with a Corgie earlier this year and if I were going to get another dog, could see a Corgie and I living very happily together. But that’s a long way off.
