Finally Over

Mashpee’s annual Fourth of July celebration took place last night on a fine summer evening, marking the end of a week of fireworks, both public and private.
Thank goodness.

We could see most of the show from the neighborhood, which was a bonus for those of us who didn’t want to fight traffic, bad enough even on a “normal” day since the start of the summer.
I was told there might be another display two weeks from tonight at the opening of the county fair across the street, maybe a good time to invite the grandkids over. What a gift, to see a public spectacle from the comfort of one’s own back yard.
