Good Start to the Day

It’s a balmy forty degrees outside, and my overnight guest, oldest grandson, Robert, just finished off 3 bowls of oatmeal and a sample of the cake he made last night, white cake with homemade white frosting. Right now, he’s working his way through a plate of eggs and bacon.

On the way to the house last night, we drove by a bonfire in one of the neighbor’s front yards.
It looked like fun, so we built one of our own, using the old Weber grill, and fueled it with a cut-up pallet from the basement, dry sticks and newspaper for kindling.
This seemed an appropriate activity for this week, which has the longest nights of the year.
