Gardener’s Diary (Part 2)

Well, I lied, I spent all day hunting for decent-looking annuals, replacing the tired pansies, weeding, edging and mowing the lawn.
I feel better, and it’s not just because my lunch was a pint of the best frozen yogurt in the world, low-fat blueberry from Four Seas of Cape Cod.

The flower boxes on the back porch now have Coleus, New Guineau Impatiens, Pinks, Dahlias and a delicate lace-like Hyssop.
I went to a number of garden centers, some of which have already closed, but scored at Teaticket Gardens on Sandwich Road in Falmouth, as well as Mahoney’s in Osterville.
The garden centers already have Mums, but I just didn’t have the heart, even though we’ve been enjoying a delightful preview of fall. I am not quite ready to let go of summer.
