LinkedIn Dialog

A member of one of the LinkedIn groups I subscribed to asked her fellow entrepreneurs to list the top 3 factors that interfere with their success. I listed MCP-ism as the top 3.
Here is our dialog.

Marcia –
Thanks for your inputs…
I feel what you say in my experience & background, especially at the start of my career. Less so as I grew up and got “used-to” the male-dominated work environment. But now as I venture into entrepreneurship, I am feeling it more again… But my perspective and reaction is different. I appreciate your sharing this perspective with me. I’d love to know how I may serve you as you move forward.
All the best!
Karen
Hi Karen,
You received some very good answers to your question.
Since you are young and pretty, it isn’t a surprise that your “perspective and reaction” to MCPism differs from mine.
One can’t discount the importance of luck in determining success, whether it’s personal or business.
You are certainly well-intentioned, but your assumption of superiority in perspective and reaction shows (with all respect and my apologies for bluntness) a lack of perspective and even humility.
Rather, I do hope that you take the time to thank the Almighty, the Great Spirit, or whatever force of nature is the center of your own faith, for your good fortune. Put another way, you might consider examining how much of a role chance rather than hard work, wisdom, etc. has played in your achievement of success.
Best regards,
Marcia
